| Periodic Monthly Statement NCAP Testing | ||

On February 4, 2004 the Federal Register published a
General Notice on Customs intention of conducting a National
Customs Automation Program (NCAP) test. The test is
designed to allow importers and brokers to file a Periodic
Monthly Statement for paying duties and fees on Custom
entries. There would be one monthly statement due on the
15th calendar day of the month for the preceding month of
entries. The Periodic Monthly Statement
is part of the ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) program
designed to modernize the accounting procedures currently in
place. The ACE program is still not operational, but we
will keep you advised as it develops.
