As of July 31, the U.S. Congress has authorized Free Trade
Agreements between the USA and Singapore and the USA
and Chile. Now it is up to President Bush to
sign the bills into law. This should come soon.
A bipartisan group of senators is now promoting a Free Trade
Agreement between the US and Columbia. Currently
Columbia is a beneficiary country of the Andean Trade
Preference Act which includes Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.
